Barsoom records a video on your phone, encrypts it on the device, and holds the encrypted file only long enough for the recipient to download it. After that download, the server copy is deleted. The video that remains is on the phone. iCloud backup, if you turn it on for this phone, is Apple’s backup, not a Barsoom vault.
We store your phone number, display name, and a password hash with Firebase Authentication. The password is the one you choose. Sign-in uses that phone number as the account name.
The encrypted video and its key are stored in Firebase until the recipient saves the file or the transfer window ends. The key is readable by the recipient only after you approve the request, or after a date you set has passed. We cannot watch the video.
In-app notices tell you about requests and download windows. A reminder can open your phone’s Messages app. Barsoom does not send that SMS itself.
Delete Account in the app removes your login, your profile, videos you sent, their keys, and notices tied to you. Videos already saved on someone else’s phone stay on that phone.
